Most other High Speed Doors in this application are adapted doors and are limited by the harsh environments Cold Storage presents.
ENVICO's IGLOO has been designed to suit the harsh global environment as well as the Forklift Drivers it breeds. Concept
Envico High Speed Folding Doors are commonly used in applications where size, speed and wind loading are important.
The ENVICO IGLOO Insulated High Speed Door is specifically designed and engineered for cold storage environments with the need to withstand freezer conditions while also allowing to maximise valuable floor space and eliminating ice and snow on the curtain and inside the freezer which often raises plant safety concerns. By maximising sealing and energy efficiency within the freezer the IGLOO High Speed Door optimises cold storage operation and productivity.
IMPORTANT: This allows the building designers, engineers and end users to eliminate the anti room often associated with freezer entry. The Igloo Door can direct mount inside or out of the freezer and even seal to an existing panel door saving construction costs, valuable space and the need for extra power draining add on such as heat lamps often used to defrost the curtains on adapted doors.

Design
ENVICO IGLOO Doors are a high quality Insulated High Speed Door designed for clear opening dimensions of up to H5000mm x W3000mm.
The ENVICO IGLOO Insulated High Speed Door uses the efficiency of an SEW Helical Bevel / Worm Gear drive combined with a generous built in service factor for heavy workload situations. Add the pairing of Envico's OEM partner Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and you provide an optimal drive and smooth operation of the performance of the door.
All ENVICO IGLOO Doors are supplied with the following as standard:
- Powder Coated for durable and long lasting finish

The design on this door takes into account four key criteria:
- The door must insulate well at -20 to -25 degrees C.
- It must inhibit the build-up of ice on the non-freezer side of the door.
- It must maintain a good seal.
- While operating in -20 to -25 degrees C it will function without wear on the curtain or door blade.
The curtain is insulated on the ambient side and has been tested to -25 degrees C.
The IGLOO Insulated High Speed Door has an innovative operating method that takes away curtain wear. By using an insulated curtain and running it on the outside of a track (as apposed to the inside as common practice) the door is free of any wear points.
 The wear or impact of the folding action is taken up by a series of urethane impact blocks (or shock absorbers). These impact blocks play an important part in taking away any contact points on the curtain as it folds up. The blocks stack up on top of each other as the door travels up.
There is no contact made by the curtain or the stiffeners through this folding up motion. The track itself has a series of 10mm thick UHMWPE wear strips for frictionless movement.

The ENVICO IGLOO Door is predominantly used for internal freezer applications. High pressure ratings should be checked with ENVICO prior to ordering. Doors are rated from + 60C to – 30C.
ENVICO also offers the option of being able to seal the Igloo Door to an existing or proposed sliding panel door. Other options can be considered and should be addressed to Envico directly.
Operation
The IGLOO Insulated High Speed Door has an innovative operating method that takes away curtain wear. By using an insulated curtain and running it on the outside of a track (as apposed to the inside as common practice) the door is free of any wear points.

The door is operated by a direct drive SEW / Allen-Bradley unit to pull up and drive down the curtain in a folding motion. In automatic mode (standard) the door is operated by specific opening commands. A preset timer determines how long the door remains open (1 to 30 seconds) to suit the traffic requirements. The ‘hold open’ time is activated after each opening command, or when either of the two-photo sensor beams is broken.

Framework
The frame is made up of a head unit and leg units. The Envico IGLOO Insulated Freezer Door maybe fixed directly to a wall or be a free standing unit and can be assembled and erected by simply taking the head unit, bolting the leg assemblies to it and then lifting into position.
The framework is galvanised steel and powder coated to give a durable and long lasting surface finish.
Other options consist of Stainless Steel and three Coat Epoxy.
Door Curtain
The curtain is constructed from two sheets of heavy duty PVC (990 + gram). A specialised insulated poly fill ensures a frost free curtain in cold storage applications. It is reinforced with a series of fibreglass rods, giving the door very good pressure resistance and flexibility. The nature of the curtain construction provides excellent damage resistance.
Safety Features
- Soft bottom to curtain (no rigid bottom or detector switch to get damaged in the event of accidental collisions).
- Ratchet handle to raise door should power failure occur.
- 2x IP67 Photocell for wet industry areas, within door opening.
Warranty
Option 1
A Twenty-Four month, 100,000-cycle standard written guarantee is available with each door on completion of installation based in a non-freezer side application (subject to position and conditions assessed prior to order)
Option 2
A Twelve month, 50,000-cycle standard written guarantee is available with each door on completion of installation based in a freezer mounted application (subject to position and conditions assessed prior to order)
Low Maintenance
The ENVICO Igloo High Speed Freezer Door is designed to be a low maintenance door.
The frame work is galvanised / heavy steel construction and powder coated for rust prevention.
The curtain blade is of heavy duty reinforced PVC which can be easily repaired by welding.
The frame and curtain are easily washable to maintain good looks.
The doors have an UHMWPE extruded wear strip on the leg tracks for frictionless movement. When combined with adjustable speed drives the IGLOO doors have a quiet and smooth operating action.
