This client was looking for a door system that could be built to withstand the environment of a Log Steam Chamber. It needed to be chemical resistant while also resisting temperatures of 80 to 100 degrees C. The doors were also to be linked with
the chambers control system so operation of the doors were integrated with the chambers themselves. Envico developed the mechanics and physicality of the door in parallel with the design of the chambers.




Taking into account the dimensional width constraints of the hanger, Envico was to design a door system that, 1- achieves the required clear opening width and height dimensions, 2 - was to have no in-ground track system, so as to offer a smooth transition for aircraft in and out of the hanger, 3 - provide flexibility with door opening options allowing the movement of either small aircraft or larger aircraft in and out of the hanger, and 4 - provide an automated system for opening the doors that was quick and efficient.
In response to the brief Envico designed and built a
door system that was fast and quiet while requiring only 1200mm of side room to accommodate the mullions for storage. As the customer did not want to have tracks in the floor commonly associated with a sliding door system. Envico designed a series of inconspicuous urethane-lined holes set at each mullion position. This allows for a smooth transition of the aircraft in and out of the hanger. Because any door can be opened at any time or a row of two or three may be opened at once, it is ideal for moving small aircraft in and out without needing to open any more doors than is required.
